Full conversion and extension to detached outbuilding

This run of old cart sheds is within the curtilage of a listed building. After prolonged negotiation with the local authority we obtained permission to convert them into a 3 bedroom house with large garage and utility room in the new deep block.

Solar panels are proposed for the metal roof of the garage block with an air source heat pump running underfloor heating. Lots of floor to ceiling glazing and doors opening onto the large front garden will make this a bright, comfortable and contemporary home, yet retaining the charm of the original building and some of the vaulted ceilings and beams.

The owners have a keen interest in sailing and prefer contemporary design. Suzy designed a cohesive scheme across the whole interior, with subtle, neutral colours of oak, off white, taupe and muted blues with

a subtle nautical theme and natural finishes. Designs were made for bespoke kitchen, utility and wardrobe cabinetry. Certain areas of the hall and lounge were proposed to be clad in painted shiplap.

The whole design, budget and specifications were accepted, but the project is on pause due to the current climate.
